Louis Perrault is a Professor of Surgery and Pharmacology at the Université de Montréal and a researcher in the research Centre of the Montreal Heart Institute, where he also serves as a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon since 1997. He’s the director of the cardiovascular perfusion program at the Université de Montréal. He recently received a NHI grant of 1 250 000$ for a Network in cardiac surgery for 2007-2012.
Dr Perrault has authored and co-authored more than 600 articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed publications including J Chir Thorac Cardio-Vasc, Circulation, J Heart Lung Transplant, Anesth Analg. In addition, he has written several book chapters. His research interests are endothelial dysfunction in left ventricular hypertrophy, pulmonary hypertension following CPB, stem cells therapy and heart transplantation.
